Building Fabric Engineer | West London & Surrounding Areas | £38-40K Base | £50-60K OTE | Paid Weekly + Van & Package.

We are currently recruiting for a Building Fabric Engineer / Fabric Maintenance Engineer to work on a mobile basis in and around the Middlesex region of Greater London, you will be working on a mobile basis, carrying out predominately reactive / emergency repair works within commercial environments.

Summary:

* Role: Building Fabric Engineer / Fabric Maintenance Engineer

* Status: Permanent, PAYE - Paid Weekly

* Earnings: £38-40K Base. £50-60K estimated annual earnings.

* Location: Middlesex & Surrounding areas.

* Environments: Commercial - retail, hospitality (stores, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs etc).

* Highly reactive role; 4-8 jobs per day (location dependant).

* Hours: Monday - Friday 08:30am - 5:30pm (contracted), realistic day is arriving on-site circa 8:30am and leaving your last job at 4:30pm.

* Paid Overtime - Optional but high volumes available. x1.5 rate Monday-Saturday until midnight. X2 rate for all other hours.

* Call Out Rota: 1 in 4 weeks. £80 per call out (travel + 1st hour) + overtime paid after first hour on-site.

* Package: Company van, fuel card, pension, uniform, phone, 29 days paid holiday + additional annual leave if you work or are on call during bank holidays.

Duties:

* Carry out reactive and emergency fabric repairs across commercial sites (retail, offices, hospitality).

* Complete patch works - painting, tiling, and basic wall/floor repairs.

* Perform minor carpentry works including doors, locks, skirting, furniture repairs, boarding up and make damaged areas safe following break-ins, damage, or health & safety risks.

* Replace ceiling tiles, adjust gridwork, and carry out basic joinery tasks.

* Fit signage, shelves, noticeboards, and wall protection items.

* Conduct basic plumbing repairs - taps, leaks, blockages, and sealant works.

* Inspect and remediate minor fire door issues (e.g., closers, seals, ironmongery).

* Manage jobs via PDA/tablet, keeping accurate records of work completed.

Requirements:

* Must be experienced carrying out building fabric repairs within commercial environments.

* Must have a strong multi-skilled skillset - especially within carpentry and plumbing disciplines.

* Formal trade qualification is desirable but not essential.

* Must hold a full UK driving license with under 9 points.
