A welcoming and high achieving secondary school in Brent is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Qualified Humanities Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to delivering engaging humanities lessons and inspiring students to develop a strong understanding of the world around them.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Humanities subjects such as History, Geography or Religious Studies across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students develop critical thinking, analytical skills and a deeper understanding of historical events, cultures and global issues. The school prides itself on creating a supportive learning environment where teachers are encouraged to collaborate, share best practice and continually develop their teaching.

This role would suit both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers who are passionate about making Humanities engaging and accessible for all learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Teach subjects such as History, Geography and Religious Studies depending on specialism.
• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom engagement.
• Encourage students to develop critical thinking, discussion and independent learning skills.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning and development.
• Contribute to the wider school community including meetings, parents evenings and school events.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching Humanities subjects within a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge in History, Geography or Religious Studies.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A passion for inspiring students and making learning engaging.
• The ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
• A commitment to supporting student progress and maintaining high academic standards.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
