Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Barnet, which supports secondary-aged pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education or require additional behavioural and emotional support. The school is seeking a skilled and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join their team from September.

The RoleAs a Behaviour Mentor in a PRU setting, you will support pupils both in and out of class to help them regulate their behaviour, re-engage with learning, and develop positive coping strategies. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to create a calm, structured environment where students feel understood and supported. This role requires strong emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trust and consistency.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs, ideally in a PRU or alternative provision

  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour with a calm, professional approach

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships

  • A non-judgemental, patient, and resilient attitude

  • A commitment to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning

  • Full-time availability from September 2025
