The Role:

So, what will you be doing as a Mechanical Engineer?

Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks on all mechanical assets.
Diagnose and resolve faults to ensure maximum uptime of mechanical systems.
Conduct minor installations and proactive system monitoring to support operational optimisation.
Accurately complete job reports and maintenance records.
Perform routine inspections and fault finding on district heating and cooling systems.
Support condition-based and predictive maintenance strategies.
Ensure prompt resolution of maintenance issues and effective close-out of all tickets.
Provide shift cover and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a consistent, professional service.
Assist at other sites when required and maintain current operational knowledge.
Work in line with statutory and company Health & Safety policies.
Apply and manage Permit to Work and lone-working procedures.
Participate in risk assessments and promote a culture of safe working practices.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
Report system issues in a timely manner and support escalation processes.
Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and peers.

What are we looking for in our next Mechanical Engineer?

In-depth knowledge of district heating/cooling systems, including boilers, CHP, and chillers.
Experience in PPM and reactive maintenance in commercial or industrial environments.
Strong mechanical installation and maintenance capability.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
Clear, professional, and customer-focused communication.
