JSS are partnering with a well established business to appoint an Interim Accounts Receivable Manager to support during a period of transition. This role will take ownership of the Accounts Receivable and Expenses functions, managing a team of 7 and ensuring strong operational control, process efficiency, and compliance -particularly across VAT.

This is a hands on role requiring a balance of team leadership, technical capability, and process improvement, with a key focus on stabilising and enhancing the shared services function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and support a shared services team of 7, covering Accounts Receivable and Expenses.
  • Oversee AR operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing across the business.
  • Drive effective debtor management, improving cash collection processes and documentation where required.
  • Own receipt forecasting, reporting, and analysis, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Review and ensure correct VAT treatment, including responsibility for UK and Irish VAT returns.
  • Monitor and report on unallocated cash, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Conduct credit checks and manage ongoing credit limit reviews.
  • Oversee expenses processes, ensuring strong controls, policy compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Support integration activity as part of a wider group transformation project.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across shared services.
  • Provide ad hoc support as required by the wider finance team.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience in a Shared Services Manager or similar role, with responsibility for AR and/or expenses.
  • Strong VAT knowledge, including hands-on experience preparing UK and Irish VAT returns (essential).
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams, ideally within a transitional or changing environment.
  • Strong systems experience (Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
  • Confident communicator, able to engage and influence stakeholders across the business.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to balance operational delivery and process improvement.
  • Able to quickly stabilise teams and implement structure in a fast-paced environment.
