Purpose of the Job
As a Children's mainstream Residential Support Worker, you’ll provide essential support to young people aged 12–17 living in mainstream residential homes. Your role is to offer stability, promote independence, and create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
This is ad-hoc, temporary work, ideal for those seeking flexibility while still wanting to make a meaningful difference.
Key Details of the Job
- Location: various locations in Leeds
- Pay: £14.82 per hour + uplifts for waking nights and weekends
- Contract: Ad-hoc temporary work (no guaranteed hours)
- Shifts: Earlies, lates, sleep-ins, waking nights
Requirements
- Ligature Training (mandatory)
- Minimum 1 year experience in residential childcare, youth support, safeguarding, or a similar environment
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and de-escalation
- Experience engaging positively with young people who may display challenging behaviours
Desirable
- Experience in Mental Health Secure settings
- Additional behavioural management or risk-reduction training
