Reed Finance is working with a leading social care charity in the Glasgow area to recruit a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. Our client has recently seen a period of change and created this position to assist the growing finance function.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the post holder will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of the monthly management accounts and the annual statutory accounts. They will provide finance support including but not limited to decision support and analysis, preparation of budgets and forecasts, financial controls, external statutory reporting and compliance, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and support for the tender of contracts.

The main responsibilities the position entails are:

• Preparation of the monthly management accounts
• Develop a proactive and effective working relationship with relevant stakeholders
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts
• Preparation of invoices to local authorities
• Assist in the preparation of year end information for statutory accounts
• Liaise with external auditors and provide backup information as required
• Assist with the preparation of financial information required for the tendering of contracts

To be considered for the position, you must possess the following:

• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ICAS)
• Experience of management and statutory accounts
• Understanding of financial systems
• Effective stakeholder engagement
