Deputy General Manager

We are looking for a  **Deputy General Manager**  to join the team at Rhinefield House Hotel in the New Forest – part of the Hand Picked Hotels collection. 

Hand Picked Hotels prides itself on the succession planning of our leaders. In fact 9 of our current Hand Picked General Managers have been promoted from Deputy General Manager positions. We are therefore confident that the role of Deputy General Manager will provide the right candidate with a real opportunity to progress their hospitality management career.

You will be working closely with Gareth Davies one of our very experienced and respected General Managers, who himself progressed through Hand Picked succession planning.

You will have access to some excellent Hand Picked training courses including our 2 day Hand Picked Leadership course and will have the opportunity to attend bi-annual Hand Picked business leaders’ conferences and meetings. 

As Deputy General Manager of this 50 bedroom AA Red Star Hotel you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day running of all Hotel operations through the interpretation of the Hand Picked Hotels vision. 

You will effectively manage all Heads of Department with direct line management responsibility for the Operations Manager who oversees Food & Beverage, our Head Housekeeper, Spa Manager and Reception Manager. You will also offer peer support to the Executive Head Chef, Maintenance Manager and Sales & Revenue Manager.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills alongside attention to detail and good operations management experience.

**Competencies of a Deputy General Manager:**

We are looking for someone with excellent people skills who is hardworking, committed, organised, an effective time manager and is able to motivate others. To meet the challenge of this role you will have:

* 2 years’ experience working in an Operations Manager role or as a Deputy General Manager * Strong commercial acumen * Experience of Health & Safety management systems and audits and up to date knowledge of statutory obligations * A proven track record in excellent service delivery, team engagement and achieving goals and objectives
