Information Security Consultant - Canary Wharf, London- £44-50,000 + WFO options and great benefits
Major client has an urgent opportunity for an Information Security Consultant ideally with some of the following certifications (CESG CCP, CCP, CompTIA Security+, ISC2 Systems CISS, CISSP, ISACA, CCIM or Cisco Cyber Security Specialist) to work closely with the IT security team to support and maintain an information security program that includes defining security policies, processes and standards. You will work with the IT department to select and deploy technical controls to meet specific security requirements, defining processes and standards to ensure that security configurations are maintained.
As am Information Security Consultant you will be required to identify security requirements using methods that may include risk and business impact assessments, coordinate and complete information security operations documentation, work with information security leadership to develop strategies and plans to enforce security requirements, address identified security risks, raise information security awareness and develop training plans. You will monitor security reports and logs for unusual events preparing an action plan for such findings, work with the information security team to identify, select and implement technical controls, research and evaluate new threats and advise on any necessary communication or extra controls to counter these. You will recommend information-security-related hardware and software, including developing business cases for security investments, define and implement Controls to define security configuration and operations standards for security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances, and host-based security systems.
You will have combined IT and security work experience with a broad range of exposure to systems, applications, database and administration, 2 years of IT security experience, experience in developing, documenting and maintaining security policies, processes, procedures and standards, knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and the associated network protocols and concepts, in-depth knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles, as a means of relating business needs to security controls, knowledge of and experience in developing and documenting security architecture and plans, including strategic, tactical and project plans and experience with common information security management frameworks, such as ISO, ITIL, COBIT and NIST frameworks.
You will have excellent technical knowledge of MS Windows and a wide range of security technologies such as network security appliances, identity and access management (IAM) systems, anti-malware solutions and desktop security tools.
