SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary SEN Unit

Tradewind Recruitment Agency is looking for a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs within a mainstream primary school SEN unit. This is a rewarding role for someone who is committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including social, emotional, and learning difficulties.

Work one-to-one or in small groups to implement learning programs tailored to individual needs.

Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

Observe, monitor, and report on pupil progress and development.

Promote positive behaviour, social skills, and emotional well-being.

Support with classroom organisation and preparation of resources.

Requirements:

Experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting.

Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are desirable (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, NVQ).

Knowledge of SEN strategies, interventions, and the SEND Code of Practice.

Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support staff.
