Senior Residential Support Worker – Solo Children’s Residential Service (EBD)
Location: Smethwick
Service Type: Solo Children’s Residential Home (EBD)
Salary: £27,000 – £31,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Sleep-in Pay: £50 per sleep-in
Rota: 1 long day on (07:30 – 23:00), followed by a sleep-in and 2 days off
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Driving Requirement: Must hold a full UK manual or automatic driving licence
We are supporting our client in the recruitment of a Senior Residential Support Worker for their solo children’s residential provision based in Smethwick. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role within a dedicated service that supports a young person with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in a one-to-one care environment.
The Role:
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing stability, consistency, and high-quality care to the young person in the home. You’ll act as a positive role model, support the wider team, and help ensure the home meets all care standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and emotional support to the young person
- Support and guide junior staff, acting as a team leader on shift
- Help develop and implement care plans and behaviour strategies
- Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed at all times
- Promote independence, education, and social development
- Take part in daily routines, activities, and appointments
- Complete accurate documentation and contribute to key working
Requirements:
- Experience working in a children’s residential setting (essential)
- Understanding of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to work on a 1-on, 2-off rolling rota, including sleep-ins
- Full UK manual or automatic driving licence (essential)
