About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Commercial Manager to join our team working on a joint franchise of the Manchester Metrolink - the largest light rail network in the UK. This is a key role within a dynamic commercial team, supporting the successful delivery of high-profile infrastructure projects across the network.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects within the Metrolink franchise.

Oversee the administration of NEC Contracts (ECC, PSC), including contract change management, early warnings, and payment applications.

Monitor contract performance, including costs, revenue, forecasting, and risk management.

Provide commercial support to project managers and operational teams, ensuring compliance with commercial procedures and governance.

Prepare, review and negotiate contract documentation, subcontracts, and supply chain agreements.

Liaise with key stakeholders including Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), contractors, consultants, and internal teams.

Provide accurate and timely reporting on commercial matters including cost/value reconciliations and monthly CVRs.

Support dispute avoidance/resolution and final account negotiations.

Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or in a similar role within rail, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

Strong working knowledge of NEC suite of contracts is essential.

Experience working on public-sector transport projects or light rail systems highly desirable.

Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.

High level of commercial and financial acumen, with experience of managing budgets and contract risk.

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, ICES) is desirable
