Senior Accountant – Global Operations (Contract)

Location: Hertfordshire – 3 days per week onsite (parking available)

Rate: £500–£600 per day (Inside IR35)

Contract: 6 months (potential to extend or convert to permanent)

Start date: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Global Operations team on an initial 6-month contract. This role will play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting and operational insight across our five global manufacturing sites.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders in manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, and quality, ensuring robust financial control, accurate costing, and improved operational transparency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee cost roll processes and standard costing
• Deliver inventory reporting, provisions, and improve transparency of stock data
• Produce absorption reporting and perform detailed variance analysis
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and provide operational management accounting
• Support SAP initiatives to enhance automation and standardisation across sites
• Partner with global teams to provide insight and financial recommendations

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a cost accountant or manufacturing accountant (preferred)
• OR strong SAP ECC 6.0, advanced Excel, and Power Query skills (essential)
• Comfortable managing and analysing large datasets
• Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across global teams and influence decision-making
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement
