HGV Class 1 Steel Driver

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Steel Driver to join our well-established client based in Wednesbury, West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and genuine opportunities to grow and progress.

This position would be ideal for a person looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver / Truck Driver / CE Driver.

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday
• Start times between 04:00 – 07:00

Rates of Pay:

• £18.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a HGV Class 1 Steel Driver will be:

• Delivering steel products (previous steel experience is mandatory)
• Operating and driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo as required

Essential Skills:

The skills required as a HGV Class 1 Steel Driver will be:

• Valid UK Category CE driving licence
• Minimum of twelve month's experience driving Category CE vehicles
• Valid UK Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no major endorsement codes
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Punctual with excellent time-keeping
• Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills
• Mandatory previous experience working with and transporting steel

Desirable Experience:

• Previous experience driving commercial vehicles
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience

Training:

• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout
