Red Rock Consultants are currently working with a privately owned family business formed in 1947; a national M&E provider with an outstanding reputation for delivering excellent levels of service. Who currently employ over 800 staff and have a turnover in excess of £160m.

My client has an excellent reputation within the market place and due to growth my client is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Estimator with design experience, to join their team to work out of there Northampton office. For this role the right candidate must have experience in Mechanical Estimating and come from a strong Mechanical background. The right candidate must have experience in tendering mechanical projects to the value range between £500k and £3M within Education, MOJ ,MOD, Commercial and Healthcare Sectors.

Role Responsibilities:

* Preparation of analytical estimates for Mechanical works, that are technically accurate and with an acceptable risk level, from outline drawings and specifications

* As a Mechanical Estimator, participate in the design development to assess buildability, materials, innovation and cost effectiveness of proposals.

* Provide high level pricing information early in the Tender for optioneering and budgeting exercises to ensure the most cost-effective solution offered.

* Ensure procedures, including risk and governance processes, are followed, documented and correct authorisations are in place.

* Participate in the preparation of a procurement plan with the central/regional buyers to agree suppliers & sub-contractors, terms & conditions and discount levels

* Prepare enquiries and obtain competitive quotations for mechanical engineering resources, particularly materials and sub-contractors. Obtain completed construction and design questionnaires where appropriate.

* Prepare financial models for framework submissions, including setting appropriate staff rates

* Cost coding using the standardised system in order to allow meaningful feedback and cost capture going forward

* Preferable knowledge of Estimation Software

Role Requirements/skills.

* Capable of producing high quality estimates on large scale projects with a high attention to detail.

* A Full UK driving licence.
