Automotive Project Engineer – Redditch

£32,000 – £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Permanent, Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Office Based

Coats Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client in Redditch for an Automotive Project Engineer to join a well-established, industry-leading manufacturer of specialist tools for the automotive sector.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in the motor trade who is ready to step into a technically challenging and rewarding role focused on tool development, research, and engineering support.

• Researching and developing new products for the automotive aftermarket.
• Maintaining and updating application coverage for existing tools.
• Working with marketing to produce tool demonstration videos and instructional content.
• Liaising with technicians, trade contacts, and suppliers to stay up to date with tooling trends and workshop needs.
• Testing prototype tools and collecting appropriate vehicle parts.
• Answering technical queries from customers.
• Supporting the Technical Director with day-to-day project work.

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• Strong mechanical understanding of automotive tools and components.
• Confident with Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
• Clear communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Clean driving licence required.
• GCSE Grade C or above in English (or equivalent).
