Are you a skilled Mechanical Fitter looking for your next opportunity in a dynamic industrial environment? We're currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the team in Swinton, Manchester. This is a temp-to-perm role offering long-term potential and a competitive salary of around £35,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on mechanical systems and equipment

* Install, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems

* Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure safe and continuous operations

* Inspect and diagnose mechanical faults and potential issues

* Dismantle and reassemble machinery for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance

* Collaborate closely with electrical and operations teams on repairs and upgrades

* Adhere to all company safety standards and protocols

* Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications

* Support the development of junior fitters and apprentices through training and mentoring

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Multi-Skilled Technician in an industrial setting

* Solid understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems

* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints

* Familiarity with maintaining and repairing heavy industrial equipment

* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

* Excellent communication skills

* Commitment to high health and safety standards

Desirable Skills (Not Essential):

* Time-served apprenticeship

* CSCS Gold Card

* Flexible approach to working hours

* IPAF and FLT certification

* Sheet metal work experience
