Registered Children's Home Manager
Overview
We're looking for a passionate, committed Registered Manager to lead our brand-new, solo home, with a view of dual managing. Whether you're an experienced Registered Manager or a Deputy manager ready for your next step, this is an exciting opportunity to shape a home from the ground up.
We're currently preparing for Ofsted registration and aim to open within the next few months, so start date is flexible depending on your availability. If you want to be part of a supportive, values-led team focused on calm, nurturing, long-term placements, we'd love to hear from you.
Registered Children's Home Manager Key Responsibilities
* Support and lead the home through Ofsted registration and ensure full regulatory compliance
* Deliver consistent, child-focused care in line with Quality Standards
* Oversee day-to-day operations including safeguarding, rotas, staff support, and care planning
* Recruit and develop a small, committed staff team
* Promote a safe and empowering home environment where children can thrive
* Work collaboratively with external professionals and families
Registered Children's Home Manager​​​​​​​ Skills
* Proven experience supervising or managing staff in a residential childcare setting
* Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection protocols
* Excellent leadership and team development skills, with the ability to build a positive staff culture
* Familiarity with care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
* Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate records and compliance
* Confident communicator with social workers, Ofsted, and external agencies
* Empathetic and child-centred approach, with a clear commitment to improving children's lives
* Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
* High professional standards and a reflective, growth-oriented mindset
Requirements
* Experience in a Registered or Deputy Manager role
* Knowledge of the Children's Homes Regs 2015 & Quality Standards
* Understanding of safeguarding and child development
* A flexible, resilient, and reflective leadership style
* Full UK driving licence
