• Support the maintenance and management of bridges and related structures.
• Conduct inspections, surveys, and assessments to evaluate the conditions of bridges.
• Assist in designing and planning repair or improvement projects tailored to bridge maintenance needs.
• Rank and prioritise bridge maintenance needs across the borough to ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Collaborate with other council departments, utility companies, and stakeholders to streamline maintenance processes.
• Participate in the tendering and procurement processes for maintenance services.
• Help manage budgets and maintain financial records for bridge maintenance projects.
• Support responses to public and legal enquiries regarding bridge maintenance and safety.

• Level 5 qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Proven experience in highway structures design and maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and deliver projects on schedule.
• Experience in preparing tenders and managing contracts.
• Strong understanding of performance management and budget control.
• Knowledge of the Highways Act 1980 and bridge maintenance standards.
