Our client is a leading University in London with a large, diverse estate. They are seeking an interim Fire Safety Operations Manager, a key role as influencer across the University's estate. This crucial, hands-on role will provide expert advice and support across the University on matters relating to Fire Safety.

Key Responsibilities include:

* You will be the technical authority for Fire Safety at the University.

* You will be responsible for the strategic planning and operational delivery of fire safety infrastructure.

* Ability to provide competent fire safety advice to wider Estates team to assist with operational management of fire safety across the University estate, including The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and the Building Safety Act 2022.

* You will support the Estates and Engineering Senior Management team to deliver a cost-effective programme of proactive and reactive fire safety works.

* Manage a portfolio of fire strategies for all University buildings of various complexity, both residential and non-residential. This includes writing and reviewing the strategies.

* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide competent fire safety advice to all University staff and students to assist in day-to-day operations.

* Implement fire risk assessment actions and actions from fire safety audits by working with relevant duty holders.

* Work closely with Estates and Capital Projects teams to drive compliance with fire safety legislation in line with statutory guidance and best practice.

* Manage contracts which provide planned and reactive fire safety maintenance.

The successful candidate will possess proven experience in fire safety, preferably within a public sector setting. You will have an in-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations and compliance requirements. You will have extensive experience leading fire door repair programmes and conducting fire risk assessments to a high level. You will be an excellent communicator with interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Relevant certifications in fire safety are a necessity (e.g. NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management, Fire Risk Assessment).

This is an interim opportunity, for an initial 6-month contract with the view to extend / convert to permanent. The day rate on offer is £350.00-£400.00 per day LTD rate (inside IR35, via Umbrella Company), depending on experience.
