Job Description A well-established care provider is seeking a proactive and skilled Facilities Officer to support the maintenance and refurbishment of its residential sites. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a background in general maintenance, painting, decorating, and carpentry, who is passionate about creating safe and welcoming environments.
Key Responsibilities Refurbishment & Maintenance
- Carry out general repair and maintenance tasks across multiple sites.
- Assist with painting, decorating, and carpentry works.
- Support the moving and storage of furniture and equipment.
Administration
- Report defects and respond to maintenance requests.
- Complete relevant documentation and administrative tasks as required.
Safety & Risk Assessment
- Ensure safe usage and storage of chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
- Assist with regular testing of alarm systems and fire safety equipment.
- Record and report any defects or actions taken.
Professional Responsibility
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of work and customer satisfaction.
- Stay up to date with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Raise any concerns or issues with supervisory staff.
What We’re Looking For Skills & Experience
- Technical awareness of maintenance trades (e.g., plumbing, electricity, heating).
- Understanding of Environmental and Health & Safety legislation.
- Familiarity with COSHH regulations.
