Interim Financial Accountant - 3 Month ContractRole Summary

Global Accounting Network are partnering with a global sport and entertainment business who are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to join for a 3-month contract. In this critical role, you will lead the preparation of the organisation's year-end financial statements, manage the close process, and support the finance leadership during the audit period. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically proficient ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CA/ICAS qualified professional to make a significant impact in a globally recognised sports governing body.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of year-end financial statements and manage the close process, ensuring all supporting schedules are completed to a high standard.
  • Liaise with auditors, respond to queries, and resolve any issues to ensure smooth audit procedures.
  • Provide technical accounting expertise and support to the finance leadership team during the audit period.
  • Ensure all financial reporting and compliance requirements are met within the necessary timelines.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required by the business.
Qualifications
  • FULLY qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other equivalent qualifications.
  • Proven experience in year-end financial reporting and audit support
  • Strong technical accounting skills and understanding of IFRS/UK GAAP
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in the use of multiple accounting systems and Microsoft Office suite
