We’re proud to be improving lives at Amplius – and we’re looking for a Multi-Skilled Operative to help us do just that. In this role, you’ll carry out high-quality repairs to get empty homes ready for new customers, working safely, efficiently and with a strong focus on customer care.
Please note this role does not involve electrical and gas works.
- Salary: £35,532.39 per year
- Contract: Permanent, full time
- Location: Milton Keynes
- Your week: 39 hours: M, T, W, Th 8am-4:30pm (on-site) / F 8am-3:30pm (on-site)
Snapshot of your role
- Carry out a range of building repairs including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, flooring, fencing and brickwork
- Read work specifications, plan tasks, identify defects and carry out repairs
- Deliver work to Amplius standards to ensure customer satisfaction
- Order materials efficiently to reduce waste and save time
- Maintain your work vehicle and report any issues in line with procedures
- Store and transport tools and equipment safely, keeping them in good condition
- Manage stock levels and follow procedures for ordering and collecting materials
- Use lone worker device and mobile/tablet correctly and keep them charged
- Meet agreed performance and productivity targets
- Follow all Amplius health and safety policies
- Work towards achieving Multi-Skilled Technician (MST) level. Once at MST level, you’ll join the out-of-hours repairs rota (receiving additional pay)

- Ability to carry out tasks across multiple trades to a high standard
- Confident in identifying and managing potential risks on site
- Take ownership of work and sees tasks through to completion
- Positive, proactive and outcome-focused attitude
- Able to work effectively with colleagues and external partners
- Willing to support and mentor others when needed
- Experience working in a busy housing association or similar environment
- Comfortable working remotely and using a mobile device to complete tasks
- Able to manage and maintain van stock effectively
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
A full driving license is essential for this role.
DBS clearance is required for this role.
