We are currently recruiting for a full-time Payroll & Bookkeeping Assistant to join a busy and growing accountancy practice. This is a varied role offering a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across both payroll and bookkeeping within a fast-paced environment.
You will play a key role in supporting both functions, working with a range of clients and ensuring all work is completed accurately and within strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Duties:
- Processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls
- Ensuring all payroll information is accurate and submitted on time
- Handling Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC
- Managing payroll queries
- Maintaining accurate payroll records
- Processing CIS returns and dealing with related queries
Bookkeeping Duties:
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Processing purchase and sales invoices
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Assisting with VAT returns
- Supporting the preparation of management accounts
About You
- Previous experience in payroll and/or bookkeeping
- Experience with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Confident using accounting and payroll software
- A proactive and adaptable approach
