Job Title: Head of operations - PSV
Salary: £65,000-£70,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday
Location: Stanwell

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, we are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to lead and manage all aspects of depot-based bus operations, including driving staff and the traffic/allocations' function.
This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for operational performance, safety, compliance, customer experience, and profitability, within a regulated and unionised environment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and manage drivers, supervisors and operational teams to deliver safe, reliable and high-quality services
Take full ownership of depot performance, including service delivery, punctuality, lost mileage, safety and customer satisfaction
Deliver agreed budgets, KPIs and operational plans while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
Drive engagement across the depot, promoting structure, discipline, professionalism and a strong safety culture
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Drivers' Hours, Working Time Regulations and Operator Licence requirements
Develop constructive working relationships with recognised trade unions, local authorities and external stakeholders
Oversee collision reduction, injury prevention, staff welfare, training, appraisals and HR-related matters
Ensure effective staff planning, inductions and performance management across the operationAbout You
Proven senior operations leadership experience within bus or public transport operations
Strong people manager with experience leading teams in a unionised environment
Sound knowledge of British Domestic Hours, EU Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations
Transport Manager CPC - essential
Commercially minded, resilient and professional, with a strong customer and safety focus
Confident using operational systems and Microsoft Office (Trapeze/Ticketer experience desirable)What's On Offer
