We are looking for a Trainee Paraplanner to join our close-knit team. You don’t need financial services

experience as we’re far more interested in your attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

About the Role:

As a Trainee Paraplanner, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Senior Paraplanner and Advisers.

You’ll be involved in a wide variety of tasks from day one, including preparing client files, liaising with

providers, and supporting the advice process. Over time, and with full training, you will be given

increasing responsibility in areas such as suitability report writing, conducting investment analysis and researching providers, platforms and products.

Key Responsibilities

Client Service & Administration


• Maintain accurate and compliant client records (digital and paper) in line with GDPR requirements.


• Managing correspondence and ensuring timely follow-up and filing.


• Prepare documentation ahead of client meetings, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Client Interaction & Communication


• Liaise with clients and providers via phone, email, and letter in a courteous and professional manner.


• Confirm client appointments and follow up on outstanding information as required.

Paraplanning Support


• Assist in submitting and tracking new business, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.


• Help prepare client illustrations, application forms, performance summaries and valuations.


• Suitability Report writing under supervision and guidance from senior team members.

Client Reviews & Ongoing Service


• Prepare policy summaries and servicing packs ahead of review meetings.


• Assist in managing servicing schedules and keeping client records up to date.


• Identify opportunities to improve client outcomes and flag potential new business.

Business Operations


• Support the preparation of monthly performance graphs and adviser presentation materials.


• Help manage stationery, literature, and marketing materials as needed.


• Assist with newsletters, email updates, and other client communications.

Training & Development


• Complete a minimum of 2 hours CPD per month and actively maintain your training record.


• Attend regular 1-to-1s and participate in peer learning and development.


• Share knowledge with team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:


• Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to delivery high standards.


• Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).


• Willingness to learn financial services system (full training provided).

Desirable (but not essential):


• Experience in administration or financial services (investments, pensions, insurance).


• Familiarity with software such as Intelliflo, SimplyBiz, or Defaqto.
