The Infrastructure Manager Role Description:
The role of the Infrastructure Manager will be to lead and manage the Infrastructure Run team ensuring high quality service delivery. The team will consist of between 7 and 15 FTEs.
You will have responsibility for infrastructure services within the Engineering Management Team.
Whilst this is primarily a management role, a technical background and experience of some of the relevant infrastructure required.
Infrastructure Manager Key Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Lead and manage your team ensuring high quality service delivery
+ Own the infrastructure service for the business
+ Work closely with the Project Management team to manage the overall project schedule, prioritization and dependencies
+ Oversee the ongoing mentoring and development of team members
+ Support and assist other managers/teams as part of the Engineering Management Team
+ Work closely with the Support area, and the Support Management team to address service issues and proactive service enhancements
+ Ensure performance management process is followed in agreed timeline for all team members.
+ Carry out regular 1-2-1s with all direct reports
+ Proactive ownership of technology platforms supported by your team
+ Preparation and management of an annual infrastructure refresh plan for the areas supported by your team
+ Manage and monitor your team workload ensuring work is correctly prioritised and delivered according to agreed timescales
+ Work closely with the Solution Architects and Technical Account Manager to ensure solutions are supportable and fit for purpose
+ Participate in the development of and/or review of standards, documentation and methods of working
+ Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and customers
Infrastructure Manager Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
+ Strong communication skills
+ Experience of building and managing technical teams
+ Experience of managing cross site teams
+ Experience working in ITIL framework for service delivery
+ Excellent operational delivery skills with a proven record of delivering plans and projects within timescale and budget
+ Experience of implementing process improvements
+ Supplier management experience
+ High level technical experience of some of the following platforms
- Microsoft Windows, Exchange, Office 365
- Enterprise Storage – Dell EMC, NetApp
- Intel Hardware
- Backup technologies
