Night Porter and / or Day time Receptionist

My client is looking for either one person to work in a combined role as Night Porter and Receptionist, working 2 shifts a week on nights and the other shifts as a Receptionist / or my client can employ two candidates, seeking part time work on either nights or days.

You will join a front of house team at this prestigious hotel, located in the Rye area.

For the combined role, if you like a varied role this will suit you. Possible live in available for the combined role.

As NIGHT PORTER, duties consist of:

Working 2 nights a week, on a rota basis which will include shifts on a week-end.

• Your role will involve ensuring the effective running of the hotel during the night time hours achieving consistently high standards of service and security and maximum guest satisfaction.
• Ideally, you will have previous night’s experience or similar hotel reception experience.
• You will provide services such as guest check in and check out, porterage if required, cleaning duties within the public areas, some food and beverage service out of normal service hours.

As RECEPTIONIST, duties consist of:

• Being in a customer facing role. Training will be provided. This role will suit a candidate who is an engaging person, with a friendly manner and who thrives in a busy environment, as the reception area is always busy being the heart of a hotel.
• Guest check in and check out
• Assisting customers with luggage and taking to rooms if they need this help or organising for this to be done
• Answering guests queries before they arrive and when they arrive
• Greeting walk in potential customers for bedrooms and the bar / restaurant
• Answering phones and responding to emails quickly and efficiently
• Taking bookings on the phone and via computer, upselling to maximise sales
• Complaint handling in a calm manner and addressing these if you can or getting assistance from the manager on duty
• Shift work will be involved - early and late shifts
• Seeking a team player, who can and will be happy to assist wherever needed at times

The salary for Night Porter / Receptionist is given as competitive. There may be the possibility of live in accommodation for the full time combined role according to availability. TRANSPORT may be desirable to give more flexibility for the required shift work demands of this hands-on role if you live out in the local area.
