English Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join a secondary school in South Cumbria for the summer term, from 13.4.26 to 26.7.26. This part-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about teaching English to KS3 and KS4 students, with KS5 teaching experience being an added advantage.
Day-to-day of the role:
Week One:
- Monday to Thursday: Full teaching days
- Friday: Half day (8.50am until 12.10pm)
Week Two:
- Monday to Thursday: Full teaching days
Deliver engaging English lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels, and potentially KS5.
Utilise strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment.
Assess, monitor, and record the progress of students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
Participate in school meetings and events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Recent and relevant experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4; experience at KS5 is beneficial.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to be a good role model for students, demonstrating qualities such as compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
- Must be reliable, committed, and interested in contributing positively to the academic and social development of students.
