We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join a secondary school in South Cumbria for the summer term, from 13.4.26 to 26.7.26. This part-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about teaching English to KS3 and KS4 students, with KS5 teaching experience being an added advantage.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Week One:

    • Monday to Thursday: Full teaching days
    • Friday: Half day (8.50am until 12.10pm)
  • Week Two:

    • Monday to Thursday: Full teaching days
  • Deliver engaging English lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels, and potentially KS5.

  • Utilise strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment.

  • Assess, monitor, and record the progress of students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.

  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.

  • Participate in school meetings and events.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4; experience at KS5 is beneficial.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to be a good role model for students, demonstrating qualities such as compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Must be reliable, committed, and interested in contributing positively to the academic and social development of students.
