An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller to join a growing and highly respected SME based in Andover. This is a critical leadership role within a dynamic, fast-paced business supplying specialist rental equipment to major industrial sectors across the UK.

About the CompanyOur client operates within the equipment rental sector, providing market-leading solutions for liquid handling, storage, and processing. They serve a wide range of industries including water and wastewater treatment, petrochemical, civil engineering, and chemical processing. The RoleThis is a hands-on position where you will be responsible for the full finance function, reporting directly into senior management. Leading a small, dedicated team, you will manage day-to-day operations as well as provide strategic financial guidance to support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with UK accounting standards
  • Monitor cash flow, manage investments, and oversee foreign exchange transactions
  • Lead financial planning to support strategic business initiatives
  • Ensure tax compliance and manage relationships with auditors and external advisors
  • Drive operational efficiencies through sound financial controls and policies
  • Provide strategic insight and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Implement and manage asset finance and ERP systems
Requirements

Candidate Profile

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in SME finance leadership, ideally within a capital equipment or rental business
  • Proven ability to manage the finance function independently
  • Proficiency in financial systems and ERP software
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and confident communicator
