Desktop Support Specialist

Job Description

Seeking motivated individual to support and foster day-to-day IT operations in a rapidly expanding manufacturing facility operating 24/7/365. This position will interact and support employees at all levels of the organization and in environments ranging from the manufacturing floor to an office setting. Adaptability, communication skills, and a positive attitude are essential traits.



  • Install and configure software and hardware
  • Manage workstations, servers, and technology tools
  • Set up accounts and workstations
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • Ensure security through access controls and firewalls
  • Upgrade and patch operating systems
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Maintain inventory records and technical documentation
  • Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
  • Provide on-call support after-hours and weekends as needed

Desired Experience

  • Experience providing customer support remotely and in-person
  • Experience with networking: Cisco switches and firewalls, VLAN’s, ACL’s
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policies, and WSUS patch management
  • Knowledge of system security, data backups, and recovery methods
  • Experience with Windows 7/10, Office 2016/365, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Exchange, Hyper-V, SQL Server, Cisco Systems, VOIP Systems
  • Knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems and PLC hardware/networking

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in related field, Associates degree with 2 years related experience, or High School Diploma with 6 years related experience
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
