Teaching Assistant

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individualised and holistic education and care support to up to 70 pupils aged 2-19 who have physical challenges, hearing loss, vision loss, and associated medical conditions, including life-limiting conditions in Welwyn Garden City.

Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

Collaborate with teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons and activities
Provide invaluable one-to-one and small-group support to pupils, ensuring their individual needs are met
Offer assistance with personal care and mobility needs, promoting independence and well-being
Monitor pupil progress and provide insightful feedback to teachers to aid their development
Create a positive and safe learning environment, fostering growth and inclusivity for all pupilsIdeal Candidate Characteristics and Experience:

Proven experience working with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and Autism
A deep passion for inspiring and assisting the development of pupils, helping them reach their full potential
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with pupils, teachers, and families Demonstrated resilience, empathy, and patience in supporting pupils with diverse needs
