Business Development Manager

JOB TYPE: Permanent, FullTime

We are seeking a Business Development Manager with sales experience but more importantly the desire to progress with a stable and progressive UK manufacturer. This is a special opportunity to take on and develop an existing territory of around 200 live accounts (current territory: £1.5m per annum).


· OTE Year 1: £45,000 - GUARANTEED
· 1% Commission on ALL Territory Sales (paid monthly and UNCAPPED )
· Fully Expensed Company Car
· 21 Days Annual Holiday
· Accommodation allowance for hotels, meals, lunch allowance and associated business expenses
· Company Pension (3% Company Contribution)
· Laptop & Mobile Phone

LOCATION: This is a field-based Business Development role, covering a large territory including Southern England, the South West and South Wales. Nights away are expected for more distant UK locations and will involve around 6 to 8 nights away from home on a 10 weeks cycle.

COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: The ideal candidate will live within 60 minutes driving distance of South-West London as this is where many of the major accounts are.

REQUIREMENTS : Business Development Manager : B2B / Wholesale

We are seeking to attract field sales personnel ideally with a background in selling FMCG products B2B in the wholesale and distributor sectors. Full product training would be provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Development Manager : B2B / Wholesale

Based from home, you will cover and manage an established customer base calling on janitorial distributors, hygiene distributors, wholesalers, food service wholesalers, buying groups (and their members) and cash & carries.

Your main Business Development Manager responsibilities will be to:
· Take ownership for the achievement of your annual sales plan by driving sales with new products and new accounts to drive profitable business growth
· Maintain relationships and develop existing customers whilst developing sales with the introduction of new products (80% Account Manager)
· New business development through prospecting and leads provided (20% New Business Development)
· Selling a very wide range of products (both branded and own label)
· Increase revenue in line with sales targets set
· Prioritise journey-planning in order to effectively cover a large geographic territory (estimated annual mileage 30,000 miles)
· Produce sales reports using Excel, Work, PowerPoint and ERP system
