Location: Sheffield

Hours: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm (occasional evening and weekend work is essential)

Job Summary:

Glu Recruit is currently recruiting for an Experienced Events Fundraiser to join an educational charity based in Sheffield. You will work as part of a small team, organising a range of high-profile public and private events in order to generate significant income for the charity. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and can use own initiative, has the ability to problem solve as well as displaying strong organisation and people skills.

Main responsibilities:

* Organise a range of public events throughout the year in order to generate targeted income for the charity. securing sponsorship for the events to maximise income

* Develop, plan and deliver the annual programme of events to raise income and profile and to meet or exceed fundraising targets

* Securing and booking full range of entertainment/activities/exhibitors/prizes

* Ensuring events are promoted in order to generate maximum attendance or ticket sales using social media, writing press releases, marketing, leaflet distribution etc

* Liaising closely with all areas of the charity in the planning of each event

* Preparing and managing the budget for each event to deliver against the target

* Recruiting sufficient volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the event

* Being the main point of contact on the day

* being the responsible person for health and safety purposes and ensuring that full risk assessments are carried out and implemented.

* Respond to all enquiries efficiently.

* Manage all invoices and payments and keep up to date accurate records

* Answer telephone enquiries and deal with or transfer them as necessary

Successful candidate:

* Organisation skills

* Track record of taking the lead in organising events

* The ability to take responsibility for an event or project

* The ability to negotiate and close deals

* Excellent inter-personal skills

* Problem solving skills and a solution focussed mind

* Good administrative skills

* A 'can do' attitude and the willingness to turn your hand to a range of tasks.

* The ability to clearly explain and promote the work of the charity to people at all levels
