The hours for this role will be Monday, Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday 6am to 3pm and Sunday 1pm to 10pm. 

Our primary office location is in Egham. Occasionally, some meetings will be held on-site and require travel to the office at the employee’s expense. This is likely to be less than 8 times a year.  At all other times, the employee can work remotely or in the office as they choose.

Responsibilities

You will support the organization's global networks. Supported technologies include enterprise-class routing, switching, load balancing and firewall solutions in the datacenter, cloud and across the WAN. You will work with peer engineering teams to quickly implement network changes to service our internal and external customers.  Incorporate elements of programming to assist with the daily workload and site reliability.

As an Engineer 2, you will work with the engineering team to develop elements of automation for manual tasks and alerting.   You will also implement changes for customers that will support new and preexisting business solutions.  You will support moves, adds, and changes with Internet Protocol (IP) routing, switching, load balancing, VPN, and firewall technologies across a variety of network platforms, along with maintaining documentation for elements of technology

You will work with the team to test implemented changes to validate the solution. You will maintain network integrity with on-going maintenance of network configurations.   We are looking for a self-starter that will maintain established service level agreements to meet customer expectations and quality standards.  As your knowledge and ability to work across the network environment increases, you’ll have opportunities for increased responsibility and career progression through a variety of network engineering and architect roles.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Provide key programming ability interacting with RESTful APIs through scripting language (Python preferred)
  • Develops and modifies elements of technology; assists with the design tests, researches, and investigates the effectiveness of elements of technology; assists with the requirements gathering of the solutions
  • Implements, operates, and maintains elements of technology
  • Basic knowledge of ITIL Foundations
  • Experience with Routing and Switching Technologies for large data center and campus networks
  • Understanding of DNS and DHCP
  • Experience troubleshooting, identification, isolation, and resolution of network issues
  • Maintains documentation for elements of technology
  • Direct experience with the following: 
    • Server load balancer
    • Routing protocols BGP and OSPF 
    • VLANs and Spanning-tree
    • Network security mechanisms such as VPN, IPSEC and SSL 
    • Infoblox
    • Managing firewall policies (i.e. Palo Alto and Cisco ASA)
    • Networking protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP
    • Cisco ACI
    • Packet capture and protocol analysis
  • Must be willing to work occasional after hours work assignments
  • Understanding of the following:
    • Software development lifecycle
    • Ansible Tower
    • SD-WAN
    • SSL certificates
