As our client's Employee Relations Policy Lead, you’ll take ownership of designing, evolving and implementing people policies that support a fair, modern and consistent employee experience. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, HR partners and operational teams to ensure policies reflect legislation, best practice and organisational priorities, while remaining clear, practical and people-centred.
You’ll lead the development of policy frameworks, support ER decision-making, and bring clarity to complex people matters. Your work will directly influence how managers navigate employee relations, how colleagues experience key moments across the employee lifecycle and how the organisation responds to emerging cultural and operational needs.
This is a fast-paced, collaborative and high-profile role where you’ll play a key part in shaping the future of the people strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation, review and modernisation of people policies, ensuring they are legally compliant, accessible and aligned to organisational values.
- Provide specialist ER guidance to senior leaders, managers and HR teams, supporting consistent, fair and risk-aware decision-making.
- Horizon-scan emerging legislation, trends and case law to ensure policy and practice stay ahead of change.
- Partner with internal stakeholders across HR, Legal, Operations and Governance to build policies that work in real-world environments.
- Support complex employee relations matters by developing guidance, frameworks and tools that strengthen manager capability.
- Lead or contribute to organisation-wide ER, culture or policy projects.
- Ensure policy communications are engaging, clear and supportive of positive employee experience.
About You
You will bring:
- Strong strategic thinking, with experience designing people or ER policies in complex organisations.
- Confidence influencing and advising senior stakeholders, particularly on sensitive or high-risk ER matters.
- Deep expertise in employee relations, employment law fundamentals and HR best practice.
- Experience managing competing priorities and leading cross-functional work in a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent written communication skills, able to translate legal or technical concepts into clear, human-centred policy content.
- A collaborative, practical and solutions-focused approach, with a passion for creating fair and consistent people outcomes.
