  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across Java-based backend systems and modern frontend stacks
  • Drive cloud-native architecture using AWS services
  • Ensure compliance with government or NHS digital standards, including security and data governance
  • Support technical decision-making and guide teams through complex architectural challenges
  • Contribute to documentation, roadmaps, and long-term technical strategy

  • Deep expertise in Java (Spring Boot or similar frameworks)
  • Proven experience with AWS (e.g. Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, RDS)
  • Solid knowledge of JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Node.js)
  • Experience designing and delivering cloud-native, microservices-based architectures
  • Previous experience working within NHS or UK government environments
  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and data protection standards
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code
  • Experience working in agile, multi-team environments
