My client needs a mechanical design engineer with 3D CAD skills and experience designing special purpose equipment for a range of blue-chip clients. You will ideally have incorporated pneumatic or hydraulic systems into your previous work.

Working in a small team with the support of a well-resourced organisation, you will design and create accurate, detailed manufacturing drawings to customer specification working closely with project and manufacturing engineers to ensure a successfully delivered project.

You will enjoy a variety of projects and working in a reasonably fast-paced environment where your creativity and engineering know-how will enable you to deliver elegant solutions to customer issues and see your designs brought into operation.

JOB CONTENT:

In this varied, engineering-focussed role you will:

- Provide detailed design and engineering input to customer projects from engineering stages through design and manufacture.

- Interpret customer technical specifications.

- Design of mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and assemblies.

- Create manufacturing drawings, BoM's, parts, assemblies and technical information for manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant technical and regulatory standards.

- Interact will all levels of customer and company personnel to keep projects on track.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

The ideal candidate will:

- Be a graduate/HND/HNC in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

- Have experience of mechanical design (including 3D AutoCAd / Solidworks etc.) and design review of bespoke special purpose machinery / equipment, an understanding of hydraulics / pneumatics and industrial electrical / control systems.

- Understand manufacturing / assembly processes, materials and components.

- Be organised with attention to detail, able to plan projects, manage multiple tasks and time productively.

- Have Strong communication skills and be confident liaising with customers and colleagues.

- Understand project costings and budgets.

- Source and procure components to specification and budget.
