Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £97.11 - £102.05 per day
Location: Erdington
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term-time only

Smart Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational provision in Erdington. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young people aged KS2 to GCSE level and beyond, many of whom have autism and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Job Requirements for this SEN Teaching Assistant role in Erdington:

NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent)

GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent)

Experience working with young people with autism and/or SEMH needs

Ability to deliver targeted support and 1:1 interventions

Skilled in supporting literacy and numeracy development up to GCSE level

Confidence in implementing consistent behaviour strategies

Strong communication and relationship-building skills with young people, staff, and parents

Role Responsibilities:

Support pupils individually or in small groups, across a range of curriculum subjects

Act as a key worker for selected pupils, including leading review meetings

Help to develop pupils' social, emotional, and academic progress

Contribute to the preparation, evaluation, and adaptation of learning activities

Promote inclusive practices and ensure pupil well-being

Undertake basic administrative duties and contribute to record-keeping

Assist in maintaining a safe, secure, and stimulating learning environment

Support the use of ICT in lessons and engage in ongoing CPD

Collaborate effectively with staff, families, and external professionals

May be asked to work at other sites within the academy as required
