White Label are excited to be working on a Senior Projects Manager role:
Department: Projects
Location: Office-Based
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Typically 8 AM - 5 PM, and 8 AM - 12 PM on Friday)
Job Description:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of complex, high-value, or multiple concurrent projects/programmes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and maximising commercial performance. The role involves full accountability for project P&L, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and overall delivery performance. This position operates at both strategic and operational levels, acting as a key interface between the client, senior leadership, and delivery teams.
In addition to project execution, the Senior Project Manager contributes to business growth, supports bid and tender activities, drives continuous improvement, and provides leadership and mentoring to project management staff.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead the delivery of complex, high-risk, or multi-million-pound projects and/or programmes from order receipt to completion and installation.
- Oversee multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities and resource optimisation.
- Drive margin improvement, cost control, and financial forecasting (including Cost to Complete).
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities to optimise business outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders
- Ensure effective planning using appropriate tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Ensure projects meet targets for cost, quality, delivery, and safety.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers and project team members.
- Provide direction, performance management, and coaching to direct reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely project reporting in line with contractual and internal requirements.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
Essential:
* Formal Project Management qualification (e.g., APM, PMI or equivalent).
* Degree or HND in Mechanical/Production Engineering, Construction, or related discipline.
* Experience managing complex, high-value or multiple concurrent projects/programmes.
* Proven experience with contracts (e.g., NEC3/NEC4 or similar).
* Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated P&L responsibility.
* Experience leading project teams and managing people.
* Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders
* Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
* Experience in risk, change, and stakeholder management.
Desirable:
* Chartered status (e.g., APM, PMI or equivalent).
* Experience managing programme or portfolio-level delivery.
* Experience in highly regulated industries (MOD, Nuclear, Rail, etc.).
* Experience in business development, bid management, or tender support.
* Proficiency in project planning software (MS Project, Primavera P6).
