Structural Engineer Job Overview

Assist in the delivery of structural engineering projects across a range of sectors
Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
Work on designs in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
Collaborate with senior engineers, technicians, and external stakeholders
Attend design team meetings with architects, clients, and contractors
Support project delivery from initial concept through to construction
Contribute to sustainable and efficient design solutions
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and CDM requirements
Utilise design software such as Tekla, Tedds, or similar

Structural Engineer Job Requirements

Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum 2+ years' UK consultancy experience
Working towards Chartered status (IStructE or ICE)
Experience designing in a range of traditional materials
Good understanding of structural design principles and building structures
Familiarity with industry software (e.g. Tekla, Tedds, AutoCAD)
Exposure to BIM environments is advantageous
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
Full UK driving licence (preferred)
