We are currently recruiting for an Additional Needs Teaching Assistant (ANTA) to support schools across Blackpool. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. The role will involve working closely with pupils who may have a range of additional needs, including SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social or emotional challenges. You will provide tailored support both in and out of the classroom, helping to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment. Key responsibilities:
- Support pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Help to implement tailored learning and behaviour strategies
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families
- Support the class teacher in managing the classroom and adapting activities
- Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion at all times
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with additional needs
- Is calm, patient and adaptable in challenging situations
- Can build strong relationships and communicate effectively
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND and additional needs
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Holds a relevant TA qualification or has transferable experience from care/support work, youth work or similar settings
