Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum DOE + Overtime

Recruit Central are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our client's team due to ongoing growth and increased demand. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a day shift role with excellent earning potential.

Main Duties of a Maintenance Engineer:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and site equipment

*

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults

*

Support breakdown response to minimise downtime and ensure smooth operations

*

Conduct inspections on machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards

*

Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify and resolve issues

*

Maintain accurate service, repair, and maintenance records

*

Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations and company policies

*

Assist with ordering spare parts and liaising with suppliers

*

Provide technical support and guidance to operators and apprentices when required

Requirements for the Maintenance Engineer Role:

*

Minimum 5 years' experience in a maintenance engineering role (manufacturing/production environment preferred)

*

Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)

*

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

*

Ability to read technical drawings and follow diagnostic procedures

*

Experience with PPM systems and reactive maintenance

*

Full UK driving licence desirable

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

*

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

*

Flexibility to work overtime when required

*

Basic IT skills for logging maintenance activities
