Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Options Officer for a Local Authority Client in Darlington.

In this role, you will provide housing advice and support, manage homelessness cases, and work with partners to help people secure safe and suitable accommodation.

Duties:

• Provide advice, information and support on all housing options to people in housing need
• Assess and investigate homelessness applications, maintaining accurate case records
• Work with applicants, landlords and partner agencies to prevent homelessness and secure accommodation
• Arrange temporary accommodation and respond to homelessness emergencies, including out-of-hours duties

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

• Experience working in housing, social care or a related field supporting vulnerable people
• Knowledge of housing issues and homelessness legislation
• Experience liaising and working with a range of partner agencies and service providers
• Ability to manage a caseload, prioritise work and make decisions under pressure

What's on offer:

Salary: £21

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
