The role focuses on breaking down barriers, influencing mindsets, and guiding young people towards positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work closely with young people to identify and address behavioural challenges that hinder their ability to engage in education and personal development.

* Help young people develop social and emotional skills, promoting resilience and self-confidence.

* Assist in managing classroom dynamics and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

* Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging group sessions, supporting personal and social development.

* Provide one-on-one mentoring to help learners set goals and track their progress.

* Help learners make informed decisions about their futures, guiding them towards educational and career pathways.

* Work with external agencies, families, and support networks to provide holistic support to young people.

* Maintain accurate records of learner progress and contribute to monitoring and evaluation reports.

Programme Details:

* Structure: 2 cohorts per teacher/behaviour mentor, with approximately 15-25 learners per class.

* Commitment: Full-time equivalent (FTE) post.

Requirements:

* A strong passion for working with young people, especially those facing behavioural issues or challenges in education or personal life.

* Ability to see beyond challenging behaviour and help learners develop the skills they need to succeed.

* Experience working with young people with behavioural issues, although formal teaching qualifications are not required (training can be provided).

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.

* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

Desirable:

* Experience in education, social work, or youth work.

* A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
