We are seeking a qualified and experienced Child Protection Social Worker to join a local authority team in Dorset. You will be working within a well-structured and supportive environment, managing complex cases including Child Protection (CP), Child in Need (CIN), pre-proceedings, and court work.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload involving CIN, CP plans, and court proceedings

*

Conduct statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989

*

Prepare court reports and present evidence when required

*

Attend and chair multi-agency meetings

*

Develop and review child protection plans

*

Work directly with children and families

*

Maintain accurate case records on internal systems

*

Provide safeguarding expertise within the team

*

Complete specialist assessments (training provided)

Required Skills & Qualifications

*

Social Work England (SWE) registered

*

Degree in Social Work (or equivalent)

*

3+ years' post-qualification experience within an English Local Authority

*

Experience managing complex CP/CIN cases and court proceedings

*

Enhanced DBS certificate

*

Eligible to work in the UK

*

Able to travel across Dorset as required
