Pyrotechnic Assembly Operative

Chalgrove | £27,500 | Permanent | Days

We're supporting a globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Chalgrove who are looking to add an Assembly Operative to their pyrotechnics team. This role focuses on assembling precision pyrotechnic components — including cartridges and rocket motors — used within aviation safety systems. It involves detailed, regulated work with explosive materials, following strict processes and safety standards.

What you'll be doing

Assembling pyrotechnic components in line with engineering drawings and work instructions

Using weighing equipment and specialist tools to meet tight tolerances

Handling explosive materials safely, following all mandatory procedures

Interpreting drawings, part numbers, batch details, and documentation updates

Maintaining tools and equipment to ensure they're safe and fit for use

Updating SAP accurately to record progress and traceability

Meeting all quality, safety, and explosives‑compliance requirements

Contributing to housekeeping and keeping the work area clean and safe

What you need

Previous experience in production or manufacturing

Ability to read engineering drawings (training provided)

Understanding of health & safety procedures

Strong attention to detail and confidence working to precise tolerances

Basic IT and SAP skills

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication skills and a proactive approach

GCSE grades D-G (or equivalent)

Experience with explosives or pyrotechnics is beneficial, but full training is available for someone with a solid manufacturing background

Days-based hours: 08:00-16:45 Mon-Thu / 08:00-12:00 Fri
