The Energy Operations Advisor reports to the Energy Operations Manager and is responsible for working with gas and electricity industry systems and suppliers to ensure day to day operations, including meter reading, management of exceptions and resolution of enquiries and issues are effectively handled.
This role is critical to ensuring the quality and accuracy of the customer’s bill and for supporting delivery of a positive customer experience.
The organisation has grown quickly and so culture, processes and technology need to adapt to better support the business as it moves to its next stage of evolution with more Utility sales and greater complexity across channels.
We need to implement more robust processes, take out failure demand and improve customer experience.
This role will work as part of the Energy Operations team and will support delivery of improvements to exception handling processes, metering performance improvements and will also support the roll-out of the next generation of Smart meters to customers ensuring the operation evolves to support the group strategy and delivery of significant EBITDA growth targets.
Key Responsibilities Handling inbound industry operations enquiries from internal teams, including front office teams supporting the customer Working with gas and electricity industry systems to investigate missing data flows and exceptions, including loss objection, erroneous transfers and Change of Supply disputes Rectify failed meter reads, meter read appointments and site visits Arrange for de-energisation / disconnection and meter exchanges where required Day to day engagement with third parties and suppliers to manage switching, meter reading and to ensure timely resolution of enquiries Supporting with ensuring supplies are billed correctly Work as part of the team to come up with new ideas and process improvements Skills & Experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Hard working, self-motivated and keen to develop Must be a fast learner to understand and comply with regulations Must be able to work by yourself as well as part of a team Computer literate with good Excel skills Experience in the energy sector is preferable but not required
