Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Lambeth (Secondary School)
Location: Lambeth
Start Date: September 2025

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school community in Lambeth from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, qualified HLTA with a strong background in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other SEND needs. You will work with pupils aged 11-16, providing high-quality support in both classroom and small-group settings, and play a key role in the development of inclusive practices across this Lambeth based school.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality classroom cover during teacher absence (planned and unplanned)
Lead, mentor, and support a team of Teaching Assistants across Key Stages 3 and 4
Work closely with the SENCO and Inclusion team to support strategic SEND and autism provision
Plan and deliver structured group interventions tailored to students with autism and related needs
Promote positive behaviour, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing for neurodivergent students
Identify and escalate concerns around safeguarding, bullying, and wellbeing
Assist with inclusion-related administrative tasks and contribute to staff training and developmentEssential Skills & Experience:

HLTA qualification (or equivalent)
Experience working with students with autism in a secondary school setting
Strong understanding of SEND strategies, particularly in relation to ASC, ADHD, and SEMH
Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students, staff, and families
