Mechanical Engineer – Ascot – Up to £45,000
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer to join their on-site engineering team in Ascot. This Mechanical Engineer position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a prestigious and fast-paced environment, supporting the maintenance, performance and reliability of key mechanical infrastructure.
The successful Mechanical Engineer will work under the direction of the M&E Team Leader, providing technical expertise to ensure the smooth operation of mechanical building systems while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency and asset reliability. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will also support operations during large-scale events, ensuring mechanical systems perform effectively during periods of peak demand.
This Mechanical Engineer role offers a salary of up to £45,000 along with a strong benefits package and the chance to work within a unique and highly regarded venue.
Key Responsibilities – Mechanical Engineer- Complete reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks through the CAFM system, ensuring accurate documentation and timely completion
- Promote and maintain high Health & Safety standards across all mechanical activities
- Support contractor management, including oversight of specialist maintenance contracts such as catering equipment
- Assist with on-site C.A.T scanning activities (training can be provided if required)
- Monitor and analyse system performance through the BMS platform
- Carry out servicing, fault-finding and repairs on AHUs and FCUs, including belts, filters and associated components
- Conduct routine mechanical alarm testing and maintain compliance records
- Assist with small plumbing and mechanical installations, including temporary water and drainage provisions for race days and events
- Provide mechanical infrastructure support during live events to ensure operational continuity
- Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 5 weeks)
Skills & Experience Required- Recognised mechanical or plumbing qualification (e.g. City & Guilds)
- Proven experience working as a Mechanical Engineer or within a building services engineering role in a large or complex environment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings
- Experience working with BMS systems (Schneider EcoStruxure desirable)
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and COSHH regulations
- Experience managing or supervising specialist contractors
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office
